These are the News at
Le CLOS de la TOUCHE
|
| FRANCE
has suffered a lot from two heavy windstorms that have very badly devastated our country,
in the night of the 25th. December, and, then, two nights later. Wind reported at 173 km/h
(nearly 95 kts) at Orly Airport, south Paris. See underneath a picture of our barometer :
the red needle indicates where we were about half an hour before we make the picture ! One
can understand that, under those circumstances, roofs, electric poles, chimneys, trees,
etc ... have weighed nothing.
It has not been possible for the electricity, telephone and other concerned companies to
repair the whole disaster before the 31st of December, which means that about six hundred
thousand people have been let down without heating for new year's day ! |
| In addition,
some rivers have over flooded their area and a lot of houses have even been covered with
water to the roof !
River La Loire is now becoming like a "small river Amazon" and following picture
has been taken close to BLAISON, in fact, from St.-MATHURIN. |

| Our French
version aims at giving satisfaction to our Web visitors from Quebec, Switzerland, Belgium
and all the overseas visitors who prefer the French language.
We also wish to communicate with our fellow French
trekkers who want to know more about us, also about REUNION Island, and, to be honest, we
had a few messages asking for this French version.
By all means, you get, at the end of every page, a link to go to the same page in the
other language, so that you can compare.
Although
every care has been taken to minimize faults and mistakes, which we do apologize in
advance, we would feel grateful if, discovering anything wrong, you would be kind enough
to let us know. Simply use the "contact bar" at the end of every page to e-mail
your remarks. Thank you for your time.
